Dr. Shimy Apoorva is a board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologist dedicated to delivering comprehensive, personalized eye care. She provides expertise in managing complex inflammatory and infectious eye conditions, including uveitis, scleritis, and ocular cicatricial pemphigoid, as well as common vision concerns such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye disease, and age-related macular degeneration. Known for her patient-centered approach, Dr. Apoorva combines clinical precision with genuine compassion to help each patient achieve and maintain their best possible vision.

Dr. Apoorva earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Georgia, and completed her ophthalmology residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York. She then pursued advanced fellowship training in Ocular Immunology and Uveitis under Dr. Stephen C. Foster at the Massachusetts Eye Research and Surgery Institution (MERSI) in Waltham, Massachusetts. This specialized training allows her to provide highly skilled care for patients with rare and complex autoimmune and inflammatory eye disorders.
Serving as an ophthalmologist is more than a profession for me, it is a calling to help others experience the world with clarity and confidence. Each day, I am motivated by the relationships I build and the trust patients place in me to care for their sight.
